Jen's Bing 珍式餅 began in Amsterdam in 2019, with a longing for home and a love of cooking. What started as familiar recipes in a small kitchen became a food truck at Ten Katemarkt, bringing the everyday flavors of Taiwan to a new neighborhood.

From Taiwanese egg crepes to a comforting cup of bubble tea, we wanted to share the food we grew up with: the breakfasts, street snacks, and tea-shop favorites woven into daily life in Taiwan.

Today, Jen's Bing has grown into a place for both a quick takeaway and a leisurely bite. Our purpose remains the same: to share a taste of everyday Taiwan, and let the food tell its story.

A name with a story

“Jen” comes from Jenny, our founder. “Bing” means pancake in Mandarin — a nod to the Taiwanese egg crepes that first shaped our menu.

The Chinese character 珍 (zhēn) means “precious.” It also appears in 珍珠奶茶 (zhēn zhū nǎi chá), the Mandarin name for pearl milk tea. Together, these meanings bring a personal connection and a Taiwanese favorite into one name: Jen’s Bing 珍式餅.

Meet Legend

The black-and-white cat eating a bing with chopsticks in our logo has a real-life inspiration: Legend, Jenny’s cat, adopted here in the Netherlands.

During the early days, Legend would sit quietly nearby as Jenny tested recipes in the kitchen. Her company became part of the story, earning her a place in our visual identity.

For us, she represents the small comforts that make somewhere feel like home: familiar food, good company, and a place to belong.

Rooted in Taiwanese flavor

We cook with care and stay close to the flavors we grew up with. Many of our core ingredients, including tea leaves, seasonings, sauces, and toppings, come directly from Taiwan to help us bring those familiar tastes to every order.

To us, food carries memories and creates connections. Whether Taiwanese food reminds you of home or introduces you to something new, we’re happy to share it with you.
